Informal Criticism Session (03/10)

My lecturer organised an informal criticism session today for my group, so that we could look at other peoples work and see what ideas the group was developing as a whole. I found this very useful, so in turn, thought that I would record the criticism and input I got from the group, as well as the praise I received.

Reflective
This was the photograph which the keyword was agreed on by people looking at my photographs. Two people from the group commented, and said they thought of the words 'thoughtful' and 'reflective'. Therefore, this photograph worked well in representing my keyword, although it didn't stand out or was experimentally different.

Communication
This photograph brought to light two different views on the keyword of the photograph. Two people commented on the photograph reflecting the intended keyword 'communication', whilst two others commented with the words 'romance' and 'relationship'. After seeing these two alternative words mentioned by my group, I can understand how it can represent these words by the text displayed on screen. However, I did not intend for this to happen but it worked quite well. Furthermore, when we cycled the room individually pointing out work we liked, my work was pointed out, and a few members of the group said that the composition was good and the viewpoint showing communication was strong!

Reflection

On my sheet where the group wrote certain keywords that sprang to mind when viewing the photograph, the words 'vibrant', 'colourful', 'surreal', 'refracting' and 'rainbow' appear. Although I intended for the word 'reflection', I knew instantly after taking the photograph that the word vibrant could also be used.

Vibrant

Finally, no one guessed my keyword for this photograph. The group commented with words such as 'texture' and 'shape.
